Missions

To integrate with the research, conduct an individual reserach agenda with the research team's data sources, while also contributing to the broader research goals of the team. For this position, we are hiring young researchers (less than 2 years after phd defense) with exceptional skill in data analysis, big data, statistics, to work in large social media data bases, and that can also prove proficiency in addressing publics from social sciences. The main objective of the project is to conduct research related to regulation of social media and platform policy, and specially regarding political effects of social media.

- Data analysis
- Article drafting, managing, quality control, submission management
- Participate in the collective construction of large corpora and datasets
- Participate in workshops, seminars, and other dissemination activities

Compétences

- Mathematical and statistical proficiency is a must
- Provable experience working with social media data, specially very large datasets (we typically work with datasets of up to several TB depending on the case study)
- Autonomy to conduct independent analysis and research on our (GPU/CPU) servers, familiarity with coding frames in machine learning and AI
- The candidate must have a provable record of transforming results from analysis in scientific publications addressing communities concerned by social media analysis, and platform policy and regulation

Contexte de travail

The candidate will work at the Complex Systems Institute of Paris CNRS (ISC-PIF), Paris 75013. The candidate is also expected to work in coordination with institutional partners in France and in Europe.
