Job Description
Missions
Development of an experimental setup to transfer qubits from trapped atoms to free-propagating photons using cavity-coupled Rydberg superatoms.
Activity
The post-doctoral researcher will design and build the experimental setup, develop and optimize protocols for loading and cooling atoms inside an optical cavity and exciting them to Rydberg states, and characterize their coupling with the cavity.
Your Profil
Skills
The project requires a strong hands-on doctoral-level expertise in quantum optics, cold atoms, Rydberg atoms, and cavity quantum electrodynamics. A strong scientific and technical rigor, and an ability to work in a team, will also be necessary.
Your Work Environment
Le travail sera effectué dans les laboratoires de l'Institut de Physique du Collège de France à Paris, au sein de l'équipe Photonique Quantique du JEIP. Le post-doctorant assistera deux chercheurs permanents CNRS dans l'encadrement de deux doctorants.
Constraints and risks
The work will be done in the laboratories of the Institute of Physics of Collège de France in Paris, in the Quantum Photonics team of JEIP. The post-doctoral researcher will assist two permanent CNRS researchers in supervising two PhD students.
