Missions

The research engineer will be responsible for:
- Ensure the design, commissioning and evolution of complex and specialized experimental devices in the field of 3D printing of optical components.
-Ensure the characterization of optical components, notably in guided optics.

Activités

-Study the scientific needs, propose, in the optical domain, the techniques and methods of measurement, characterization or observations adapted to the optical components made by 3D printing
-Determine, choose and apply the operating conditions for the development of new experiments in the measurement and characterization of optical components
-Analyze metrological constraints and design or develop the experimentation and measurement chain
-Negotiate the functional specifications and write the technical specifications
-Organize the follow-up of the realization, validate and qualify the device or the method at its different stages
-Manage the performance of measurements, interpret and validate them
-Train and inform on the principles and implementation of experimental devices and ensure operational safety
-Manage all human, technical and financial resources allocated to experiments  Structure a technology watch
-Disseminate and promote the achievements
-Advise in his field of expertise
-Validate the structure of consortia in the case of projects related to 3D printing

Contexte de travail

The successful candidate will joint to the Laboratory of Physics of Lasers, Atoms and Molecules (PhLAM), joint research unit (UMR8523), under the dual supervision of the CNRS and the University from Lille. He/She will join the photonics team based of the PhLAM Lab at IRCICA, located in the Haute Borne scientific activity park in Villeneuve d'Ascq. The photonics team designs, manufactures and characterizes next-generation optical components within the FiberTech Lille technology center (https://fibertech.univ-lille.fr/fr/accueil). The candidate will join the group involved in the 3D printing of silica-based polymers and glasses.
