Job Description

Missions

The postdoctoral researcher will focus on understanding and modeling the mechanisms and resources required for the generation of non-Gaussian quantum states. The project is closely connected to several experimental platforms in which a quantum emitter is coupled to a directional electromagnetic field, including neutral and charged quantum dots in micropillars, NV centers in waveguides, and optical nonlinearities.
Research approaches may include analytical methods based on simplified cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) models, collision models, and numerical simulations. The successful candidate will also develop thermodynamic interpretations of the underlying mechanisms to optimize their efficiency.

Activity

• Perform analytical calculations and theoretical modeling.
• Process, analyze, and fit experimental data.
• Publish research findings in leading scientific journals.
• Present research results at international conferences.
• Supervise Master's and PhD students.
• Prepare scientific and technical reports.

Your Profil

Skills

• PhD in Quantum Physics, Quantum Optics, or Quantum Measurement Theory.
• One to two years of postdoctoral research experience would be a significant advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with experimental research groups, develop theoretical models, and analyze experimental data.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated record of high-quality scientific publications and presentations in relevant research areas.

Your Work Environment

The successful candidate will join the research group of Alexia Auffèves, internationally recognized for its expertise in quantum energetics, quantum thermodynamics, and quantum optics. The group addresses both fundamental and technological challenges through close collaborations with leading experimental and theoretical research teams worldwide.
MajuLab is an International Research Laboratory jointly operated by the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), Université Côte d'Azur (UCA), Sorbonne Université (SU), the National University of Singapore (NUS), and Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Since its establishment in 2014, this Franco-Singaporean quantum research center has fostered long-term scientific collaborations and strengthened synergies between the French and Singaporean research ecosystems.
The researcher will be physically based at the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT), a world-renowned research center in quantum science and technology. They will work within Singapore's vibrant and multicultural research environment, one of Asia's leading hubs for quantum technologies.
