Job Description

Missions

This position is part of a project supported by the French National Research Agency (ANR). The project aims to understand how the actin cytoskeleton of cells is altered by genetic modifications of actin in diseases called actinopathies. The recruited researcher will have a dual role within this project. They will be responsible for the technical developments required for the project (particularly the production and characterization of new actin variants) and will contribute to scientific advancements through the acquisition of experimental results.

Activity

The researcher will be responsible for setting up the molecular tools necessary for this project and for their characterization using protocols established by the host laboratory. This person will then collect the data needed to advance the project and be able to interpret it within the framework of molecular models.

Your Profil

Skills

The recruited person must have serious experience in molecular biology and in the production of recombinant proteins. They must also have solid knowledge of biochemistry, particularly in enzymology and chemical kinetics.
Other skills such as imaging and programming (R, Python or equivalent) are highly recommended, or the recruited person must show an interest in learning them upon arrival at the laboratory.

Your Work Environment

The International Research Laboratory "Bridging Mechanobiology and Medicine" (IRL3639) is hosted within the Mechanobiology Institute in Singapore. The institute includes approximately 150 people - researchers, teacher-researchers, engineers, technicians and PhD students - distributed across 15 research teams and 4 technical platforms and services. The activity will take place within the "Physical and Molecular Principles of Cytoskeleton Organization" team led by Alphée Michelot.
As the International Research Laboratory is based in Singapore, proficiency in English is essential.

Constraints and risks

The position involves the typical risks of laboratory and computer workstation work.
