Missions

This position is to be filled in IRL CINTRA in Singapore, to work on exploring novel light control and enhanced light-matter interactions in photonic crystals (PhCs) integrated with atomically thin two-dimensional (2D) materials. The candidate will work closely with the other members of the team working on this activity, and also with our partners in France and in Singapore.
The candidate will also be involved in writing progress reports and publications for this project.

Activités

The activities of this position include:
1. Integration of 2D materials into PhC structures.
2. Characterization of heterostructures using Raman spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, Second Harmonic Generation (SHG), and other relevant techniques.
3. Collaboration with partners to develop novel photonic device architectures.
4. Development of optical characterization setup and optimization of experimental methodologies.
5. Writing progress reports and scientific publications to document the research findings.

Compétences

1. Ph.D. degree in Materials Science or Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Physics, or related disciplines from top universities.
2. Expertise in 2D materials and PhC integration.
3. Research experience in optical characterization tools such as Raman, AFM, SHG, etc.
4. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and collaborators.
5. Independent with the ability to take initiatives.
6. A publication track record in related fields is an advantage.

Contexte de travail

This position is to be filled in CINTRA, which is an International Research Laboratory (IRL) from CNRS, located in Singapore whose partners are CNRS, Nanyang Technological University and Thales. CINTRA develops research activities on Nano-materials, Nano-electronics and Nano-photonics technologies. The applications of these studies are organized in 4 main programs: Energy, Device and Sensors, High Frequency and Nano-Photonics. Currently about 60 people are affiliated with CINTRA, including 30 PhD students and research fellows. The recruited person will work within the Nano-Photonics program under the responsibility of Prof Sanghoon Chae

Contraintes et risques

There are no specific constraints or risks if the candidate has extensive experience in fabrication and characterization techniques and follows laboratory safety protocols.
