Missions
This position is part of the Carnot ARTS project on damage detection in polymer and composite structures through combined ultrasonic (US) and terahertz (THz) imaging.
During the 5-month contract, the research engineer will contribute to:
*the completion of experimental acquisitions on polymer and composite specimens;
*the processing and structuring of data to feed the project's unified database;
*the implementation and validation of classification algorithms on test cases;
*the preparation of reports and dissemination outputs within the Carnot project.

Contexte de travail
The position is based at the IRL 2958 Georgia Tech–CNRS in Metz, as part of the Carnot ARTS project in collaboration with the LEM3 laboratory. The research engineer will work in an international and interdisciplinary environment, with access to advanced experimental facilities (THz imaging, ultrasound, micro-CT), and will collaborate with researchers, PhD students, and both academic and industrial partners.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
The position is located within a Restricted Area (ZRR), which requires prior administrative clearance for access. The activity may involve occasional travel for project meetings or scientific presentations. Risks are limited to a standard research environment (optical and acoustic measurement laboratories).
