Missions

Develop techniques for attributing extreme events to climate change. This will include an analysis, for a series of recent events in France, of observations and climate simulations available, to understand the link between events and the increase in greenhouse gases. Particular emphasis will be placed on the attribution of atmospheric flow structures associated with extreme events.

Activities

The candidate will develop appropriate statistical methods in the framework of the Climate Services Convention project in relation to the project partners. For that he / she will analyze a set of indicators of these hazards.

Skills

The candidate has experience in statistical analysis of climate simulations and observation, and particularly in the field of climate extremes. He / she will have to show a quasi-operational capability to process large data, both from regional and global climate simulations.
Expérience : 2 years or more after PhD
