Missions

We are working on designing and implementing the future quantum internet in collaboration with a large European alliance that includes both theorists and experimentalists. One of our theoretical goals is the development of new protocols for quantum networks and distributed computation. Some areas include network routing, entanglement distribution and testing, quantum money schemes, security and privacy.

Activities

Cryptography research will be carried out under Elham Kashefi's and Damian Markham' supervision (Principal Investigator of the QIA project and Head of the quantum information (QI) team respectively).
The LIP6 QI team has over 30 members and is involved in several national and international projects.
The post-doctoral will be an integral part of the team and will work closely with all members of the group.
It will be required of the candidate to have weekly meetings with Elham Kashefi as well as team meetings.

Skills

Degree in appropriate field (theoretical computer science, cryptography, quantum information)
• PhD
• Experience of research in the broad area of the related project
• Preferably, experience in the specific area of the related project
• Proven expertise in the techniques needed to undertake the research in question
• Demonstrated quality of research performance
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing.

Work Context

The post-doctoral will join PCQC, a center regrouping researchers from LIP6 and IRIF. He/She will be based at LIP6.
