Job Description

Thesis Subject

Development of efficient synthetic methods for nucleotide analogues using visible-light photocatalytic reactions.
The research focuses on the multistep synthesis of unnatural nucleosides and nucleotides with potential applications in medicinal chemistry. The project is carried out within the framework of an industrial partnership with ORIL Industrie–Servier. The synthetic strategy relies on visible-light photocatalysis to promote chemo- and stereoselective radical processes. The work also involves the design and optimization of synthetic routes, as well as their translation to continuous-flow processes.

Your Work Environment

The research will be conducted within the Molecular Chemistry and Catalysis research group, led by Dr. Amandine Guérinot, at the Chemistry of Molecular, Macromolecular and Materials (C3M) laboratory (UMR 7167), directed by Prof. Renaud Nicolaÿ. The laboratory is fully equipped with the synthetic, technical, and analytical facilities required to successfully carry out the project.

Constraints and risks

The risks associated with handling chemical substances are controlled through the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and by conducting all relevant procedures in a chemical fume hood.
