Job Description
Missions
The successful candidate will join the “low dimensional systems and quantum transport group” at LNCMI-G (B.A. Piot), focusing on the experimental study of low dimensional electronic systems. He/She will study the physical properties van der Waals magnets down to mono or few layers.
Activity
His/her main task will be to perform electronic transport and magnetic resonance measurements on mono or few layers samples of different van der Waals magnets, at low temperatures and under magnetic field. A secondary task will be to participate to the group high magnetic field activities and collaborations with external users of the LNCMI facility.
Your Profil
Skills
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in experimental condensed matter Physics. A large experience transport measurement and cryogenics is a key skill. Previous experience microwave and/or magnetic resonances would be appreciated.
Your Work Environment
The LNCMI, located at two sites (Toulouse and Grenoble), is a CNRS laboratory (UPR3228) and a Research Facility (IR). It is affiliated with INSA Toulouse, the University of Grenoble Alpes (UGA), and Paul Sabatier University (UPS, Toulouse).
The LNCMI enables researchers to conduct experiments in some of the world's strongest magnetic fields. Continuous fields of up to 36 T are available at the Grenoble site.
-----
Working at the LNCMI means benefiting from the CNRS's human resources and social action policies. These include the following benefits :
- subsidized catering
- partial reimbursement of public transport passes
- partial reimbursement of additional health insurance contributions (subject to conditions)
- sustainable mobility package (subject to conditions)
- cultural and leisure offers via the Comité d'Actions et d'Entraide Sociale (CAES : Social Action and Mutual Aid Committee)
- Full time weekly working hours : 38h30
- telework (subject to conditions)
- 45 days' annual leave, including RTT, for full-time work
Constraints and risks
The LNCMI facilities operate 7 days a week, 20 hours a day. Depending on the schedule, experiments on resistive magnets may occasionally be carried out during off-peak hours and at weekends.
The role requires occasional work in areas with a static magnetic field. This excludes applications from individuals who are not authorised to undertake such work (e.g. those with active or passive medical implants).
Compensation and benefits
Compensation

Annual leave and RTT
44 jours
Remote Working practice and compensation
