Job Description
Missions
At the CNRS, within the CEMHTI Laboratory (Extreme Conditions and Materials: High Temperature and Irradiation) in Orléans, the NAFMAT team — “Functional Nanomaterials” — of the CEMHTI-CNRS laboratory (UPR 3079) is recruiting a researcher in the field of photoinduced synthesis of nanomaterials, physicochemical characterization, and property investigation.
The researcher will be responsible for optimizing photoinduced synthesis processes, studying the properties of the developed nanomaterials, and carrying out the physicochemical characterization of new materials.
Activity
Building on a strong knowledge of the laboratory's photoinduced technology, the researcher will be expected to develop formulations in order to obtain new materials and optimize their properties.
The incorporation of new nanoparticles into polymer matrices will also need to be investigated. He/she will be responsible for testing and optimizing thermoelectricity coupled with other renewable energy sources. A significant part of the work will involve characterization using the physicochemical techniques available within the laboratory.
He/she will also be responsible for promoting and disseminating the results through the writing of scientific publications and oral presentations at conferences.
Your Profil
Skills
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with strong expertise in the field of nanomaterials and polymers, including solid fundamental knowledge, materials processing, and technology. The candidate should also have strong expertise in materials characterization techniques such as XRD, Raman, UV-Vis, FTIR, SEM, TEM, and others. Good knowledge of photochemistry would be an additional advantage.
Your Work Environment
The CEMHTI Laboratory is a CNRS research unit distributed across two nearby sites (High Temperature and Cyclotron) and bringing together around 100 staff members. The laboratory develops original expertise and tools recognized at both national and international levels, particularly for the in situ study of the physicochemical properties of materials under extreme conditions.
The researcher will be based at the High Temperature site, will join the NAFMAT team, and will work in collaboration with the other project partners.
The application deadline is set for June 11, 2026.
