Reference : UPR288-AYMVIE-003
Number of position : 1
Workplace : GIF SUR YVETTE
Date of publication : 05 July 2025
Type of Contract : Researcher in FTC
Contract Period : 12 months

Missions

The aim of this post-doctorate is to use a numerical simulation tool to set up a set of validation test cases, which can be compared with experience, for the simulation of liquid films. These simulations will be based primarily on an interface-resolved approach, but will also call for the development of Saint-Venant-type reduced models to describe the films.

Activities

The various tasks will be:
-analysis of scientific literature
-familiarization with simulation tools
-setting up canonical validation test cases
-numerical simulation using direct approach and analysis
-development and implementation of scale models

Skills

The candidate should have expertise in numerical simulation and modeling of fluid flows, especially in the field of two-phase flows.

Work Context

This work is set in the context of the development of numerical simulation models and tools for energy applications such as the cooling of electrical machines. The work will be carried out using open-source tools (OpenFOAM), and will focus on academic applications.

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
