Job Description
Missions
This position is part of the ANR-FAPESP DURAMAZ3 project, which aims to study the role of the municipal level in the implementation (or lack thereof) of policies and initiatives promoting more sustainable development in the Brazilian Amazon.
The postdoc will take part in collective research, develop their own research aligned with the overall objectives of the DURAMAZ3 project, and contribute to the operational coordination of the project in support of the principal investigators.
Activity
Take part in fieldwork and all tasks outlined in the project
Assist in coordinating collaborative publication projects
Support the scientific and logistical coordination of the project
Contribute to the data management plan
Oversee communication and outreach for the project in collaboration with the project team and the laboratory
Your Profil
Skills
Knowledge of the context of the Brazilian Amazon, its administrative and political organizations, and issues related to environmental sustainability
Experience leading collaborative projects
Fluency in Brazilian Portuguese
Field experience abroad
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work independently, and strong reporting skills
Strong personal and professional organizational skills
Your Work Environment
DURAMAZ3 is a humanities and social sciences project intended to be developed in collaboration with local communities; it involves frequent fieldwork, in which the project's principal investigator will participate.
The project also involves an international CNRS laboratory and a Brazilian research team based in São Paulo; the person recruited will regularly travel to the site and serve as the liaison between these partners and the French side of the project, in coordination with the support services of the organizations involved.
The position is offered on a part-time basis, with a flexible work schedule over the 12-month period.
Constraints and risks
This is a part-time position 50%. Frequent travel within France and abroad is expected. Travel expenses are covered by the project.
