Missions
The hired person will join the Priority Exploratory Research Program and Equipment (PEPR Risques) team at CERMES3 to conduct research within INTERRISK's (International Actions for Risk Sciences) projects. INTERRISK project. This project aims to develop international activities and interdisciplinary collaboration networks as well as an international doctoral program within the PEPR Risques. In close collaboration with the CNRS co-director of PEPR Risques, he/she will contribute to mapping and analyzing different institutionalization of risk sciences in Europe, especially identifying and analyzing the different interdisciplinary structures of research into environmental and technological risks in the context of global change. He/she will participate in project activities and contribute to the scientific valorization of results through the production of a report, communications and publications.
Activities
Main missions are:
• Mapping the doctoral schools in France and in Europe in risk sciences;
• Identifying and analyzing different Institutionalization of risk sciences at the international level (bibliometric studies, analyze of expert reports, interviewing…);
• to participate in the creation of an interdisciplinary doctoral program and activities to reinforce the program's collaborative approaches;
• to participate in organization of interdisciplinary scientific events;
• to write a report and a summary note;
• to publish articles in peer-reviewed books and scientific journal;
• to participate to the PEPR Risques activities.
Skills
• PhD in Science and Technology Studies (STS), (sociology of science, computational sociology, environmental humanities, digital humanities…);
• Interdisciplinary interest in the scientific fields associated with PEPR Risques (geosciences, climate sciences, IT, mathematics, and engineering);
• Experience in research on the Institutionalization of scientific disciplines, forms of interdisciplinarity collaborations, higher education, or research policy is valued;
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods; strong rigor in data collection and analysis ;
• Good writing and synthetizing abilities;
• Rigor, sense of initiative and organization;
• Ability to work in a team and coordination capacity;
• Proficiency in written and spoken English and French;
• Skills in data visualization are valued.
Work Context
PEPR Risques (Integrated Risks Management for more resilient societies at the global changes era) is a Research program financed by the 4th programme d'avenir (PIA4) from France 2030. Its aim is to bring together teams involved in research on natural and technological risks. The program is co-piloted by the CNRS, the BRGM and UGA, and implemented in focus and open projects.
This postdoctoral position is linked to the focus project INTERRISK, (https://www.pepr-risques.fr/fr/interrisk-international-actions-risk-sciences). The hired person will work under the supervision of Soraya Boudia into the PEPR Risques team, at the CERMES3 laboratory based in Villejuif.
The position is under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and requires the authorisation of the the Ministry for Higher education and Research authorities.

Constraints and risks
Mobility in France and Mediterranean countries can be required (4-8 times per year).
