Missions

You will join a dynamic team within the framework of a CNRS prematuration program. This project aims to develop a breakthrough technology at the interface of nanophotonics and high-frequency electronics.
Our objective is to achieve the experimental proof-of-concept of a unique nanometric device, capable of confining and enhancing electromagnetic fields to unprecedented levels, for critical applications in quantum technologies (qubit control) and nano-analysis.
This is a strategic role: the goal is to transform a theoretically validated scientific innovation into an industrial prototype. It offers a rare opportunity to participate in the genesis of a future Deeptech start-up, with strong career growth prospects for the selected candidate.
Reporting to the Project Leader, the candidate will be the technological pillar of the team. Their primary mission is to overcome technological hurdles related to the fabrication of complex multi-scale structures.

Activities

- Design and execute hybrid fabrication protocols combining macroscopic and nanometric scales.
- Act as the technical reference for Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) for defining high-resolution patterns (<100 nm).
- Implement Optical Lithography (UV/Laser) for integrating structures and electrical contacts.
- Utilize FIB (Focused Ion Beam) for rapid prototyping or structure correction.
- Master deposition (metals, dielectrics) and etching steps.
- Conduct structural inspections (SEM, AFM).
- Actively participate in functional characterization in collaboration with the team's near-field microscopy experts.
- Contribute to the Intellectual Property strategy and the definition of the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for the future start-up.

Skills

IMPORTANT NOTE: Given the high technicality of the position and the tight project deadlines, please do not apply if you do not meet the mandatory criteria below (specifically practical cleanroom expertise).
!!!! Profiles that do not match the prerequisites will not be considered.

Education Level:
PhD required in Nanophysics, Nanotechnology, Photonics, Electronics, or a related field.

Mandatory Technical Skills (Hard Skills):
Cleanroom Expertise: The candidate must be autonomous and immediately operational in a cleanroom environment.
Lithography: Advanced and proven mastery of Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) and/or Optical Lithography.
Prototyping: Significant experience with FIB (Focused Ion Beam) is highly desirable.
Asset: Experience in Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) or Near-field technics.

Soft Skills & Mindset:
Entrepreneurial Spirit: You want to move beyond the academic framework towards concrete applications and the market. You are interested in the prospect of joining a start-up.
Problem Solver: You are sharp, efficient, and capable of finding creative technical solutions to unforeseen manufacturing challenges.
Rigor & Autonomy: You know how to lead a technological project from A to Z.
Teamwork: Fluid communication with researchers, engineers, and technology transfer partners.
