Job Description

Missions

Within a consortium of four research teams based at Aix-Marseille Université, Paris-Saclay Université, and the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), the agent will be responsible for the synthesis, purification, and characterization of chiral organic molecules according to the highest international standards.
More specifically, the agent will oversee the stereospecific synthesis of atropisomers (minimum 97% ee) with isotopic chirality, featuring at least one isotopologue fragment of 9-anthracenyl. These "minimal chirality" molecules will be used by the consortium to develop high-precision spectroscopic methods for analyzing molecular chirality. Activity

Main tasks (the agent is responsible for):
- Organic synthesis, purification, and detailed characterization;
- Writing and presenting weekly activity reports;
- Participation in laboratory life (collective interest tasks).
Secondary tasks (the agent is co-responsible for):
- Sending and tracking samples to other project partners.

Your Profil

Skills

- Excellent command of organic synthesis techniques, purification, and multi-nuclear NMR analysis of organic molecules;
- Teamwork | Independent work;
- Excellent English proficiency (minimum B2 level, C1 or C2 preferred);
- Strong foundational knowledge of molecular chirality.

Your Work Environment

The agent will join the stereO research team (https://ism2.univ-amu.fr/fr/equipes/stereo/presentation), specializing in stereocontrolled organic synthesis at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires de Marseille. The agent will work directly under the scientific supervision of Dr. Yoann Coquerel.
The agent will operate in a modern and secure environment, including: Individual fume hood, Provided personal protective equipment (PPE), State-of-the-art laboratory equipment, Internationally recognized analytical platform.
