Missions

Applications are invited for a research assistant position in the laboratory of Dr. Sophie Polo (https://epigenetics.u-paris.fr/polo-group/) at the Epigenetics and Cell Fate Centre in Paris (originally for 1 year, renewable). Our research work combines cutting-edge imaging technologies with proteomics and next-generation sequencing to decipher how genome and epigenome maintenance are coordinated in mammalian cells challenged by genotoxic stress.

Activities

The proposed research work aims at targeting the DNA repair defect that we identified in histone H3 mutant pediatric high-grade glioma (Giacomini et al., Nucleic Acids Res 2024), as part of a collaborative project with the teams of David Castel, Beatrice Rondinelli (Institut Gustave Roussy, Villejuif), Cynthia Hawkins (Sick Children Hospital, Toronto) and Françoise Ochsenbein (I2BC, Saclay).

Skills

We invite applications from highly self-motivated individuals with a strong interest in epigenetic mechanisms, cancer and/or the DNA damage response.
Candidates holding a master's degree in related fields are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should provide a CV, a brief description of their research interests and contacts details for two referees.

Work Context

The successful applicant will join a dynamic research group within a network of seven teams working on epigenetics and cell differentiation at the Epigenetics and Cell Fate Centre. This highly vibrant research center is attached to the University Paris Cité, an international and multidisciplinary research environment in central Paris, and offers access to state-of-the-art facilities.
