Job Description
Missions
The postdoctoral fellow's work involves evaluating the role of CLDN1 in the growth of xenograft tumors and determining how CLDN1 modulates the tumor microenvironment. The transmembrane protein CLDN1 plays an important role in cancer cell signaling. The host team has demonstrated its immunomodulatory role in cutaneous melanoma, and this project aims to evaluate its potential as a therapeutic target.
Activity
o Perform xenografts of murine melanoma cells in isogenic immunocompetent mice. o Assess tumor growth and collect tumor samples for histological and molecular analysis. o Analyze high-throughput transcriptomic and genomic data. o Perform immunostains on tumor sections.
Your Profil
Skills
Knowledge: - The candidate must have recently completed a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology of melanoma, with a strong understanding of immuno-oncology and the functioning of the immune system, and publications in at least one of these fields. Skills: - The candidate must have solid experience in cell biology, the culture and analysis of melanoma cell lines, and the generation, management, and analysis of xenograft tumors; generation and analysis of high-throughput genomic data, transcriptomics, and scRNA-seq Interpersonal Skills: - The candidate must be able to integrate into a multidisciplinary team, interact and communicate with people from different fields; fluency in English (C1 level of the Common European Framework) is essential. Candidates must hold animal experimentation authorization at the designer and experimenter levels.
Your Work Environment
The CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), which holds the HR Excellence in Research designation, is one of the world's leading public multidisciplinary research organizations. The IGBMC (Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology), one of Europe's leading biomedical research centers, is a Joint Research Unit affiliated with the CNRS, INSERM, and the University of Strasbourg. The successful candidate will work at the IGBMC and benefit from an exceptional international scientific environment. The IGBMC comprises some forty research teams divided into four scientific departments and state-of-the-art technological platforms located on site. The successful candidate will have access to the CROUS cafeteria. The site is accessible by tram (Line A, Campus Illkirch station) from Strasbourg train station or by car (parking available). Public transportation costs are partially covered.
