Job Description
Missions
The proposed work is set in the context of Quantum Information exploiting multipartite entanglement in observables with a continuous spectrum (also known as continuous variable regime, CV). Its main scope is to provide new experimental and conceptual tools to fully characterize multipartite states of light and apply them to distributed quantum sensing and quantum communication protocols.
The proposed work aims to exploit the entanglement between optical modes generated at different frequencies using integrated optical resources.
Activity
The offer refers to an experimental quantum optics position. The postdoctorant fellow will contribute to the following areas:
- Generation of multipartite quantum light in integrated systems
- Optimal detection of quantum states using next-generation optical homodyne techniques, capable of recovering quantum information in an optimal manner
- Contribute developing new conceptual and practical tools useful for future integrated photonic resources.
- Utilizing the generated quantum states in quantum information protocols.
Your Profil
Skills
Candidates must hold a PhD in the field of quantum optics and have research expertise demonstrated by at least one publication relevant to the project's theme and activities. A solid understanding of continuous-variable quantum optics is also essential. Finally, a good command of spoken and written English is required.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral researcher will be part of the Photonics and Quantum Information team at INPHYNI, Université Côte d'Azur, Nice. Their work will also benefit from collaboration with experimental and theoretical teams at the University of Virginia (O. Pfister's group) and the University of Lille (G. Patera's group). Exchanges between experimentalists and theorists will guide the modelling, verification and validation of multipartite quantum information, thereby enabling a comprehensive characterization of CV quantum correlations and their optimal use in quantum technologies.
