Job Description

Missions

Development of an experiment and the associated protocol for device-independent quantum key distribution (QKD) with the aim of conducting a proof-of-concept demonstration.

Activity

Primarily experimental research.
Activity 1: Development of photonic entanglement devices for the implementation of a “device-independent QKD” protocol.
Activity 2: Identification and development of field-deployable solutions.
Activity 3: Conducting quantum key distribution experiments.

Your Profil

Skills

Experimental expertise in photonics, lasers, telecommunications, quantum optics, and nonlinear optics.
Project management, supervision of doctoral students.

Your Work Environment

The candidate will be hosted at the Institute of Physics of Nice, Julien Lauprêtre Street, to work within the Photonics and Quantum Information team.
Their work falls within the scope of a namesake project under the PEPR-Quantum program, which focuses on the deployment of advanced quantum cryptography protocols.
The position is in a sector subject to the Protection of Scientific and Technical Potential (PPST), and thus, in accordance with regulations, requires that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).
The postdoctoral position is full-time and may include travel for participation in national and international conferences.
An office, a computer, and all experimental equipment dedicated to the targeted demonstration will be provided.

Constraints and risks

The risks are primarily associated with the use of lasers in experimental work.
