Job Description
Missions
The successful candidate will contribute to the fabrication of polymers as well as to the deposition of thin polymer films intended for the implementation of the transducer. He/She will actively participate in the physicochemical characterization of these thin films and in the operando fluidic sensing characterization of pollutant molecules in complex environmental water matrices. Working alongside the scientific coordinator and the project manager, the successful candidate will assist them in the scientific monitoring and execution of the European IBAIA project.
Activity
The candidate will participate in the research activities carried out within the framework of the European IBAIA project, focused on the functionalization of the optical transducer in the field of infrared photonics and chalcogenide glass-based materials. The main activities will include:
Synthesis of polymer solutions
Deposition of thin polymer films, primarily by spin coating
Physicochemical and optical characterizations (SEM, DSC, transmission measurements, AFM, etc.), refractive index measurements (ellipsometry), Raman spectroscopy, and infrared spectroscopy
Operando fluidic sensing characterization of pollutant molecules in complex environmental water matrices using ATR-FTIR spectrometry
Preparation of reports and oral presentations, and contribution to the preparation of scientific reports and publications.
