Job Description
Missions
The coherence time is a key metric for assessing the performance of a quantum bit. We have recently proposed a new type of qubit that encodes information in the mechanical displacement of a carbon nanotube and leverages its coupling to a two-level electronic system to induce sufficiently strong anharmonicity, thereby enabling its manipulation and readout.
As part of this project, we aim to investigate the coupling between the mechanical modes of a suspended bilayer graphene and the quantum dots that can be formed within it. The recruited person will be tasked with theoretically studying how to exploit the deformation of a mechanical oscillator to create a novel type of mechanical qubit.
