Job Description
Missions
The researcher will conduct light microscopy experiments to study the formation of chromatin condensates and characterize their dynamics by FRAP as a function of the epigenetic modifications they carry.
Activity
This project aims to study the regulation of chromatin condensates in the test tube. The researcher will reconstitute chromatin condensates, using unmodified or methylated histones, and will optimize conditions for condensate formation. The resulting condensates will be studied using fluorescence microscopy, testing if the viscosity and surface tension of the condensates change upon methylation.
Your Profil
Skills
- hold a doctorate in biochemistry, biophysics, or molecular biology
- have practical experience with protein biochemistry
- have practical experience with biomolecular condensates
- have practical experience in advanced fluorescence microscopy
- be able to work independently and in an organized manner, and enjoy working as part of a team
- be proficient in English (the working language within the team is English)
Your Work Environment
The "Mechanisms of chromatin patterning" team is an international, interdisciplinary team within the CBI, which benefits from all the technical resources, equipment and technical platforms required to carry out the project, namely light microscopy facilities and equipment for protein purification.
