Job Description
Missions
The researcher will be tasked with developing numerical methods for studying the relationship between friction, vibrations, and aging, at both the macroscopic and atomic scales, in order to develop original strategies for controlling friction, as part of the ANR-funded project TRIBOGUIDARE
Activity
To conduct a numerical study of a 2D Frenkel-Kontorova (FK) friction model
To conduct a study of a single asperity contact under shear using finite element methods and molecular dynamics simulations.
Your Profil
Skills
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with strong expertise in numerical methods who is interested in linking theory and simulation with cutting-edge experiments. Candidates must hold a PhD in physics, materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral researcher will work closely with researchers from the “Soft Matter: Structure and Dynamics” team at the Paul Pascal Research Center (CNRS; University of Bordeaux). The laboratory is located in Pessac and is renowned for its research in complex soft matter, functional materials, and biotechnologies. The successful candidate will be supervised by Jean Christophe Loudet and Juan Elezgaray, and will be involved in ongoing interactions with all members of the team and the network of international collaborators in Germany, Poland, and Spain. The work will be part of a project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR).
