Description of the thesis topic

The thesis project focuses on the integration of the detection of events of scientific interest (from instruments onboard various satellites to study planetary environments) or operational, and the scheduling of activities that result: measurements, storage and data transfer under resource constraints.

We will consider the scientific problem in a generic framework where we will associate the management of the operations of a satellite seen as a classical scheduling problem, with specific constraints and objectives related to the data transter generated by the instruments and to considerations of autonomy, embeddability and robustness.

Work Context

This thesis in Toulouse will be carried out in collaboration between the ROC team (Operations Research, Combinatorial Optimization, Constraints) of the LAAS-CNRS and the Planets, Environments and Space Plasmas team of the Institute of Research in Astrophysics and Planetology (IRAP).
