Missions

Prepare and conduct syntheses starting from establish protocols and adapted in relation to the chemical entity to synthetize and the objectives of the research program

Activities

Conduct experiences in syntheses following an established experimental protocol and adapting it if necessary
Do the appropriate treatments for purification of compounds obtained
Synthetize certain precursors
Use the purification techniques in order to obtain a pure compound
Control and characterize the synthetized compounds
Report all experiments and results in the lab book
Look for the correct suppliying of the compounds to be used, the solvents and all small lab material deicated to the project
Inform on the hazrds related to experiments and/or commercial compounds and apply the security rules of the lab

Work Context

-The Laboratoire de Chimie de Coordination (LCC) of Toulouse, is a CNRS lab created in 1974, that functions as an Institute. It is composed of 15 research teams, administrative, scientific and technical services with high expertise.
The candidate will work in the frame of team V « New antimalarial compounds and pharmacological approaches » under the responsability of Dr Michel Baltas DR CNRS. The team is composed of chemists, biologists, pharmacologues and clinicians with strong and complementary expertises. The team is interestsd in the research (conception, synthesis, activity tests and mechanistic studies)of drug candidates against malaria and recently (M. Baltas) against tuberculosis.

Constraints and risks

No particular constraints ; the candidate will work on synthesis as indicated in the item « Mission ». He will not intervene in the biological experimental evaluations of compounds synthetized.
