Missions

Biochemical characterization of amyloid assemblies by PMCA amplification. Screening of protein aggregates by electron microscopy, and protein production

Activities

-Characterization of Brain biopsies
-Expression and purification of recombinant proteins (SDS-PAGE, Western blot, fluorescence spectroscopy, electron microscopy).
-Fluorescent dye labelling.
-In charge of shipment to partners.

Skills

-Ability to work in L2 and L3 safety labs
-Biochemical knowledge (protein expression and purification from E. Coli, SDS Page, Western blot, spectorscopies).
-Fluent in English.
-Knowledge in structural biology and/or protein chemistry

Work Context

36 month position, in R. Melki Team “Protein misfolding and neurodegenerative diseases” – UMR9199, 18 route du Panorama, 92265 Fontenay aux Roses


The candidate should be hired by March 1st, 2019 He will joint a research group composed of 15 members. The goal of the research group is to document the molecular basis of neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson, Huntington and Alzheimer). The candidate will be in charge of Brain biopsies characterization and amplification by PMCA. He will be part of an international collaborative project; he will interact with several researchers.
