The convergence of photonics and microelectronics is one of the major challenges of current research. The possibility of using light as an information carrier, for example in microprocessors, opens up fantastic prospects for increasing their performance while reducing their power consumption.
One of the major challenges is to design the new panoply of optoelectronic devices to achieve this convergence. This is to develop components beyond the state of the art in terms of compactness, speed and energy efficiency.
The work of the recruited postdoctoral researcher will concern the development of hybrid laser nanodiodes in III-V semiconductors on silicon.

Work Context

he Center for Nanosciences and Nanotechnology (Palaiseau, France) is a key player in the field of nanosciences, from photonics to nanoelectronics, microsystems and materials. The involved team is in the photonics department of the laboratory. The team has extensive experience in the study of semiconductor optical nanostructures. The candidate will join a dynamic team working in in several European projects, which is one of leaders in the domain.
