Missions

Theoretical calculation, numerical simulation and data analysis of the DeLLight experiment. This project aims to measure the nonlinear variation of the vacuum refractive index in intense electromagnetic field (nonlinear QED in intense field), produced by ultra-short and ultra-intense femtosecond laser pulses delivered by the LASERIX facility in LAL.

Activities

Theoretical calculations in nonlinear QED and laser plasma interactions.
Numerical simulations of the DeLLight optical interferometer.
Optimization of the setup and experimental parameters.
Data analysis and study of the systematic errors.

Skills

Nonlinear QED in intense field, nonlinear optics.
Theoretical calculations and numerical simulations.
Skills in Data analysis will be a benefit.

Work Context

Laboratoire de l'Accélérateur Linéaire » is a research laboratory including about 300 persons and installed in the Paris-Saclay Orsay University.The scientific subjects are mainly high energy particle physics, astroparticles and cosmology.
The candidat will work with the DeLLight research group, under the supervision, coordinator of the DeLLight project, in collaboration with the coordinator and another physicist. He will also collaborate with the LASERIX research group.
