The group of Physical Chemistry of Surfaces (PCS) at CNRS/Chimie Paris Tech (Research Institute of Chimie Paris) is looking fort highly motivated candidates for a postdoctoral position associated to the ONRG project entitled “Ion Transport in growing oxide layers on Cr-containing alloys”


The project aims to understand the early stages of oxide growth (native, passive and thermal oxides) of Ni-Cr and Ni-Cr-Mo alloys and their effect on the corrosion behavior. Thus, an original experimental approach combining electrochemical measurement and advanced surface characterization using Time-of-Flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) will be applied. The ion transport mechanism occurring during oxide growth will be studied by in situ ToF-SIMS using isotopic markers.
The task of the selected candidate will include surface preparation, oxide formation and their characterization by state-of-the-art surface analysis methods. Other tasks will include dissemination and publication of the results in international journals
