We are seeking a post-doctoral fellow for a fully-funded, two and a half year position starting in spring 2019 working in the Cerebellar Neurophysiology team at the ​ SPPIN Lab (CNRS UMR 8003, Université Paris Descartes, 45 rue des Saints-Pères, Paris, France). The successful candidate will be involved in a multifaceted project dedicated to studying the cerebellar network during locomotion using calcium imaging and especially electrophysiological recordings in the awake, behaving animal, as well as machine learning techniques for behavioral analyses.


- small animal (mouse) handling
- small animal (mouse) surgery
- performing behavioral training and experiments with mice
- electrophysiolgy in vivo
- calcium imaging in vivo


- PhD in or related to neuroscience
- practical skills for ​ in vivo experimental work
- background in neurophysiology and cerebellar function
- experience with in vivo electrophysiology
- deep desire to understand the principles underlying the functioning of the nervous system.

Work Context

The research vision of the SPPIN includes developing electrophysiological, (opto-)genetic, and optical approaches with a strong, but not exclusive focus on non-linear microscopies to conduct basic research in biophysics, neurobiology, neurophysiology and behavioral neuroscience. Research topics range from the molecular to the systems level and include investigating neuronal, glial, and circuit function in both ​ in vitro and ​ in vivo preparations.
