Missions
This job offer concerns the BACPhageChat ANR JCJC project. The person in charge of this part of the project will study the regulatory pathways existing between the master regulator RpoS and genes from prophage origin in E. coli. First, new RpoS targets or regulators will be identified using a genetic screen. The molecular mechanisms involved in these regulations as well as the consequences on bacterial and phage physiology will be further investigated.
Activities
In vivo and in vitro approaches to characterize regulatory mechanisms, bacterial genetics, molecular biology, protein purifications.
Skills
The person in charge of the project should have a strong training in genetics, molecular biology, bacterial regulation and physiology. Some expertise in protein purification would be greatly appreciated.
Work Context
The Bacterial Chemistry Laboratory is located on The Joseph Aiguier campus in the district 9 of Marseille. 90 persons work in this laboratory. There are 13 teams and 3 facilities. The team is composed of 6 staff. 2 CNRS researcher,1 associate professor 1 engineer and 2 PhD student. The candidate will be recruited as part of ANR JCJC BacPhageChat project.
