To participate to the research program of ANR project INDEX (INcremental Design of EXperiments), including coding (Matlab) of the algorithms developed.

Studying efficient incremental solutions to combinatorial optimization problems occurring in design of computer experiments. The objective is to propose an ordered design (a sequence of runs) which is nearly optimal when stopped at any point, while satisfying a set of intrinsic user-defined constraints. Several optimality (in particular, space filling) criteria and constraint types (for instance, Latin hypercubes) will be considered.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in applied mathematics or theoretical computer science, with a strong background in probability and statistics, approximation and complexity theory, or discrete optimization. Knowledge in functional analysis and measure theory will be particularly appreciated.

Work Context

The scientist will integrate the Research Laboratory academic, (I3S Laboratory) DESIGN team, under the responsability of Luc Pronzato, Maria Joao Rendas and Enrico Formenti.
