Located in Nantes, the recruited researcher will contribute to the research of the laboratory dedicated to the comprehension of the thermodynamical processes that prevail at depth and/or at the surface of solid bodies of the Solar system (Earth, Mars and/or their satellites, Titan, Galilean satellites, ...)
The studies will focus on various processes (e.g., alteration of planetary surfaces, hydrthermalism, phase stbility under different thermodynamical conditions).
The development of new experiments and analytical techniques relying on a strong background in experimental techniques (p.e. IR and Raman, X-ray, synthesis of materials at high pressure, ...) will be appreciated.
The results of the research will have to be published in peer-reviewed international journals and communicated in international meetings.
The candidate must be titular of a PhD in a domain proper or with applications in Earth and/or Planetary Sciences, and/or experimental physics. The research experience must rely on at least one peer-reviewed international paper in leading author. The candidate will fluently write and speak the English language.
The staff of the "Laboratoire de Planétologie et Géodynamique" counts about one hundred people, among them a quarter with a temporary position, located in the cities of Nantes, Angers and Le Mans. In Nantes, the laboratory is located on the campus of Science and Technology of Nantes University. The laboratory is not structured in teams, but in research themes among which the researchers may dedicate all or part of their activity. The research themes related to the present position are "Planet Earth", "Earth-like Planets", and "Diversity of Icy Worlds". The researcher will benefit of the experimental platforms described on the web site of the laboratory.
