Missions

The candidate is expected to conduct original research on galaxy formation and evolution, combining personal initiatives and collaborations with the research staff.

Activities

He/She will contribute to the realisation, analysis and interpretation of numerical simulations.

Skills

The candidate shall have a PhD by the start of the employment. Preference will be given to candidates with scientific interests overlapping with the CEA and CRAL researchers, including galactic winds, gas flows, and the inter-galactic medium.

Work Context

The CEA-Saclay and CRAL are opening a 3-year postdoctoral positions starting in the Fall 2019. This is a joint appointment funded by a ANR grant.

Our team has access to top super-computing facilities in France and Europe with tens of millions of CPU-hours allocated each year and to excellent local computing facilities to perform data-analysis. The team is made of experts in state-of-the-art numerical simulations (Blaizot, Bournaud, Rosdahl) and has strong synergies with several observational programs (led by Nicolas Bouché, Emanuele Daddi, Johan Richard and their groups), with on-going surveys at VLT/MUSE, ALMA and IRAM.

Additional funding for conferences, collaborations, personal equipment and publications is available.
