Development of a demonstrator on FPGA that implements a phase-based Oscillatory Neural Network (ONN).
Active participation in the H2020 NeurONN project and interactions with the consortium members.


The candidate will be in charge of the development of a ONN Oscillatory Neural Network on a FPGA.
The FPGA will be used to implement the digital ONN. A ARM CPU will be in charge of the online training and communication with a computer.
Scalability aspects and exploration of design space will be explored. Weights will be programmable so that they can be used to validate some on-line learning solutions.
Alternative architecture like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) will be also explored.
The candidate will present the results of his activities in some meetings with the partners of the European project. He will also participate in the drafting of project reports.


- VHDL Programming.
- C programming on ARM processors.
- Skills to use SoC EDS and Arm Developper Studio DS5 tools for programming SoC FPGA INTEL.
- Spirit of initiative, sense of organization.
- Ability to speak clearly orally and in writing

Work Context

The candidate will join the SmartIES team, Department of Microelectronics at LIRMM. He will be involved in NeurONN European Project concerning neuro-inspired computing architectures.
