Missions

The recruited person will be responsible on the one hand for the analysis by optical spectroscopy (radioluminescence, photoluminescence, fluorescence decline) of porous materials prepared by the project partners. The second mission will be to set up a thermoluminescence experiment and a scintillation yield experiment.

Work Context

The recruit will join the luminescence team of the Institut Lumière Matière. (http://ilm.univ-lyon1.fr/luminescence) The team is specialized in the synthesis and analysis of materials for optical purpose. In particular, the recruit will work in the phosphor & scintillator sub-theme. The recruited person will work in the context of the FET-OPEN "SPARTE" program aiming to develop and optimize, measure, evaluate porous scintillators for the detection of radioactive gas. This program has several partners, 3 of them are in charge of the synthesis of materials, and the ILM is in charge of their analysis by optical spectroscopy and scintillation. The results are used for material optimization. These materials are of two types: aerogel of scintillating nanocrystals, and of MOF (Metal Organic Framework).

Constraints and risks

The recruit will have to work with an X-ray source.
