Missions

This position is proposed within the framework of the CLIO project whose objective is to determine if genetic variability in olfactory receptors can be associated with differences in perception on the one hand but also in food preferences on the other hand. The project is coordinated by the CNRS (Centre de recherche en neurosciences de Lyon, CRNL) and is conducted in collaboration with the Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse. The mission of the post-doc is to coordinate the research from the planning/passing of the experiments to the organization and processing of the data and their valorization.

Activities

- Coordination of the planning of the experiments
- Conducting the experiments
- Organization and analysis of data in interaction with CLIO project team members
- Implementation of statistical approaches
- Formatting and communication of results (oral presentation to the team and outside the laboratory)
- Writing of scientific articles

Skills

- PhD in cognitive science, neuroscience or cognitive psychology.
- Proven experience in: 1/ organizing and analyzing data and using a programming language (e.g. R, Python, Matlab etc.), 2/ synthesizing and writing scientific documents (internal reports, articles etc.), 3/ presenting data at national and international conferences.
- Very good level of English
- Very good writing skills
- Skills in statistical data analysis
- Ability to work in a team

Work Context

The candidate will work in two teams :
- In Lyon, in the Neuropop team of the Lyon Neuroscience Research Center (Vinatier site in Bron, Neurocampus building) in close collaboration with Dr. Moustafa Bensafi (neuroscience)
- In Toulouse, at the Paul Sabatier University, in close collaboration with Dr. Denis Pierron (anthropology - genetics).

Constraints and risks

Frequent travel is expected (experiments in Lyon and Toulouse, conferences, participation in meetings).
