The postdoc will take part in an industrial project between researchers LGPC and the company ADISSEO to develop a new method of synthesis of Methionine based on reactive stripping. The person will be in charge of setting up an experimental methodology to compare different technologies for the application targeted in the project. The postdoc will also have to perform process simulations to evaluate different scenarios including recent or previous data as for thermodynamic modeling. The recruited person will have to report periodically and will be required to present his work regularly. The work will be done in Villeurbanne (France) next to Lyon.
The postdoc will have for missions:
* develop an experimental tool to evaluate the performance of selected technologies for reactive stripping.
* conduct a parametric study of relevant parameters (transfer coefficient etc ...)
* to model the liquid-vapor equilibria with a suitable thermodynamic model and to implement it in a process simulation
* benchmark many technologies including simulation intensification approaches
Having obtained a doctorate in process engineering, the candidate will have expertise in experimental (for example in the measurement of material transfer coefficient) and skills in simulation / modeling (Aspen, Prosim etc ... ). The person should be rigorous due to the possible handling of corrosive products.
The LGPC laboratory (UMR 5285 CNRS-CPELyon-UCBL) has been developing research in the field of process intensification for 15 years in catalytic processes and more specifically on the contribution of structuring at different scales, from catalyst to reactor. We are currently involved in many projects on this topic including the development of method comparison methodologies intensified and traditional processes. The project also involved another laboratory (IRCELYON) with a PhD student.
