The aim of this project is the development of stabilized metallic nanoparticles in solution. These nanoparticles are obtained by the controlled decomposition of metal precursors (coordination complexes) in the presence of original stabilizing ligands. These envisaged noble and non-noble metal nanoparticles will be used as catalysts in various key reactions with high industrial potential (C-C coupling and hydrosilylation of alkenes). From a fundamental point of view, this project aims at developing new monometallic or bimetallic metallic particles of controlled composition. From a more applicative point of view, the experimental protocols allowing the synthesis of the metallic nanoparticles will have to be tuned for a scale production in a pilot reactor. This project has already led to very promising results published in high-impact journals (JACS, Chem. Commun., J. Org. Chem. ...).
In this context, we are looking for candidate for a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship contract. The successful candidate will work on the development and characterization of metallic nanoparticles in solution as well as the study of their catalytic performances.
This project will involve :
- the synthesis of metallic nanoparticles in a controlled atmosphere or under dihydrogen pressure (4 bars)
- the characterisation of nanoparticles by TEM, IR and UV
- the catalytic tests
The candidate should have the following skills/competences :
- Synthesis of metallic nanoparticles in solution,
- Performing experiments under inert atmosphere (argon vacuum ramp/glove box) and in batch reactors (Fisher-Porter vessels)
- Skills in organometallic chemistry and catalysis would be a plus.
The successful candidate will work in a highly interdisciplinary environment and will interact with academic and industrial collaborators. He/she will be located in the C2P2 laboratory in the CPE Lyon engineering school on the Doua Campus.
