Missions

The main objective of the postdoc will be to model the transport and separation performance of MOF/polymer composites using force field molecular dynamics simulaiton (EMD and NEMD). This will be applied to a series of MOF/polymer composites with the idea to guide the experimentalists towards the optimal membranes for the separation of diverse gas mixtures including CO2/N2, CO2/CH4, C3-/C3=...

Activities

This modelling effort will mostly deploy force field Molecular Dynamics (equilibrium and non-equilibrium) to explore the gas transport in atomistic models built initially to represent the MOF/polymer systems. The predicted permeability/permselectivity will be further compared to experimental data for validation

Work Context

This modelling effort will be conducted in tandem with two groups internationally recognized for their experimental work on the elaboration and gas separation testing of MOF/polymer MMM membranes.
