Structural characterization of the flexible MOFs will be explored by X-ray powder diffraction under mechanical pressure, coupled or not with the adsorption of guest molecules, will aim to gain insight into (i) the reversible/irreversible phase transitions and/or (ii) the local structural changes (pore shape and pore size coupled or not with unit cell changes) of all MOFs induced by the application of a wide range of applied pressure up to 5 GPa. A specific in situ pressure-adsorption apparatus for structural analysis will be developed for probing the pressure-induced structural behavior of guest loaded MOFs.
Development of cells/equipments to explore the adsorption and the mechanical pressure in MOFs
Potential candidates should have a strong expertise in adsorption or structure and in the design of devices.
