The missions are 1) to complete the implementation of the entire software infrastructure in the two main experimentation spaces of DOMUS (apartment and modular platform), 2) to identify what can be transposed into the spaces of the other MACI platforms (in order to facilitate the work of maintenance and management by a single engineer common to our 3 platforms) and 3) to carry out a study on the needs in terms of data management of the 3 platforms in connection with the GRICAD DATA cell. Consequently, objectives 2 and 3 are to be achieved in conjunction with FR Innovacs, SFR health & society, but also GRICAD and the Grenoble Alpes Data unit. Objective 1, although specific to DOMUS, will be based on the intermediate results of objectives 2 and 3.


Work in collaboration with GRICAD to ensure the backup and access to the data produced,
Set up software tools to facilitate the maintenance of software infrastructures,
Participate in the development and maintenance of software supporting the methods used on the platforms,
Ensure comprehensive and long-lasting technical knowledge of these three platforms in order to facilitate the implementation of collaborative projects between MACI members,
Write and update technical and functional documentation,
Through its technical expertise and through a technological watch activity, participate in the upstream reflection to anticipate the evolution of the physical and digital systems deployed,
Participate in the optimization work of the MACI data cycle: collection, characterization, processing, storage, analysis, visualization, etc.


To know :
The candidate must have strong skills in engineering and an openness to the human and social sciences (in particular human-centered experimental methodologies). He or she must know how to integrate into a team. The candidate should be familiar with the following technologies and methodologies:
- System administration (Windows, Linux, MacOS),
- Network administration (TCP-IP protocol, Ethernet, Wifi...).
- Know several of the following languages ​​and environments: Java, Python, Html, Javascript, CSS, web development frameworks
- Modeling and development methods,
- Software engineering: in particular test procedures, good code management practices, ...

Work Context

The Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory (LIG) is a mixed research unit (of which the CNRS is one of the supervisory bodies) which is located on the Saint Martin d'Hères campus. Composed of 22 teams, the 450 researchers, teacher-researchers and doctoral students of the LIG address the various research themes related to computer science. Support for research activities, DOMUS is a platform dedicated to the experimental study of the digital and human ecosystem. Through various methods, particularly sensitive to ethics, agility and sustainability, the spaces of this platform are a place of multi-disciplinary experiences of exploration of digital innovations and human behaviors synergizing , around the human subject, researchers, students trained by research and industrial and societal actors.
In addition to the loan of experimentation equipment, this platform is available in several specific spaces:
An anechoic chamber of 17 m2, dedicated to high quality acoustic signals (echoic in order to preserve the naturalness of the subjects' immersion).
A large modular platform of 63 m2
An instrumented apartment (sensors, home automation) of 80 m2, a real place of daily life.
A technical control room made up of hardware and software for control, allows the capture of the data produced and the control of the complete experiments in the dedicated spaces.
Initially created at the CTL, DOMUS moved to the Maison de la Création et de l'Innovation in October 2019. In addition to DOMUS, the MACI integrates two other sets of experimental platforms respectively managed by FR Innovacs and SFR Santé & Société, also in the installation and start-up phase. Moving to MACI not only made it possible to renew DOMUS' aging equipment but also to draw lessons from the past to make the infrastructure more efficient and easier to use for experimenters. The proposed position is part of the specific need for the installation and start-up of certain experimental spaces and the consolidation of the software infrastructure dedicated to experiments.

The recruited person will reinforce the teams present at MACI and will work in collaboration with the platform engineer in charge of the technical management of the 3 MACI platforms (DOMUS, the FR INNOVACS platform and the SFR Santé & Société platform). ).
