Missions

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoc candidate to investigate the neural correlates of perceptual consciousness and metacognition. The position is part of MetAction, an ERC-funded project lead by Nathan Faivre, which aims to document the contribution of bodily signals to metacognition, and explore metacognitve deficits in schizophrenia.

Activities

The selected candidate will develop experimental paradigms, collect behavioral and electrophysiological data, analyze and interpret data, and draft manuscripts in close collaboration with Nathan Faivre. The research will involve healthy volunteers as well as individuals with epilepsy and schizophrenia.

Skills

Applicants should have strong skills in computer programming, statistics, and signal processing (Matlab, R, or Python).
Applicants should speak basic French, or be willing to learn rapidly in order to interact with participants.
Experience in psychophysics, (intracranial) electroencephalography, signal detection theory, and/or computational modeling is a plus.
Applicants with a background in engineering, computer science, or physics are also encouraged to apply.

Work Context

The work will take place at the Laboratoire de Psychologie et Neurogognition in Grenoble. The laboratory is associated with the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS), and offers state of the art platforms for behavioral, EEG, and fMRI experiments. Part of the research will be performed in collaboration with hospitals in Grenoble, Geneva, and Versailles. All expenses related to the project will be covered by the ERC grant.

Constraints and risks

Short travels in France and abroad should be expected for conferences and collaborations.
The contract is renewable once upon common agreement.
