The preservative efficacy of organic biocidal products is strongly related to their capacity of penetration and retention within wood tissues. However, visualizing the triazole fungicide molecule within the wood structure requires specific probes coupled with microscopy techniques. The aim of the work will be to use aptamer directed against a triazole fungicide, as a labeling tool for estimating the efﬁcacy of wood preservative treatments.
The hired postdoc will develop the aptamer directed a triazole model molecule and check its specificity with fluorescence techniques.Wood samples will be prepared for electron microscopy.
Finally, the recognition of triazole molecule in wood by the aptamer will be validate by adaptation of an gold assay in transmission electron microscopy, which offers the double interest of identifying preservative organic compound and of providing information on its fate within wood products at the ultrastructural level.
The candidate will have to make the link between the three implied laboratories.
The candidate should have a solid background in analytical science, and be familiar with conventional experimental methods of characterization. The profile sought is that of an engineer or master in physico-chemistry, with a strong scientific curiosity, a pronounced taste for innovation, a certain autonomy and a taste for teamwork. The knowledge of aptamers is absolutely not a pre-requisite to be able to apply.
The Département de Pharmacochimie Moléculaire (medicinal chemistry department, DPM) is a mixed Unit CNRS / Université Grenoble Alpes (UMR 5063) located on the Grenoble campus and dedicated to the domain of health, around the chemistry and physico-chemistry of medicines. The “New innovative methods for vectorisation and analysis of bioactives molecules (NOVA)” team in which the project will be conducted studies on biosensors and assay development for analysis of bioactive molecules. The group is a member of The Institut Carnot PolyNat which is an essential label to reinforce actions of collaborations with the industrialists in the field of high-added value, biosourced and nanostructured materials. The project describes below is funded by the Institut Canot PolyNat. It is a collaborative project between DPM, FCBA and CERMAV.
