Missions

This post-doctoral fellowship will contribute the development of a new assimilation scheme for the convective scale AROME model of Meteo-France & CNRS.

Activities

This post-doctoral fellowship will contribute the scientific and technical development of the non-linear aspects of the scheme. The goal is to implement successive linearizations of the ensemble around more and more precise trajectories, and to evaluate the meteorological impact.

Skills

We are looking for candidates with a good knowledge of data assimilation and/or numerical optimization. A demonstrated experience to work with complex codes as used in Numerical Weather Prediction would be appreciated. The candidates should have good ability to work in team, as well as a strong motivation for joining us on this project. Working languages are English and French. Experience with FORTRAN and C++ as well as MPI for distributed computing would be an important asset.

Work Context

This post-doctoral fellowship is part of the SuNDAE project founded by ANR and leaded by CNRM in collaboration with ENPC and IRIT. We offer the possibility to spend 3-6 months at ENPC, Paris before coming to CNRM, Toulouse.
